Launch of the Ukraine Humanitarian Response Plan for 2019

Members of the press are kindly invited to a press briefing of the launch of the Humanitarian Response Plan in Ukraine. The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Ms. Osnat Lubrani will launch the Ukraine Humanitarian Response Plan in Kyiv on 31 January. Minister of the Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons (MTOT) Mr. Vadym Chernysh will also be on the podium.

After almost five years, the situation in eastern Ukraine continues to take a heavy human toll, with 5.2 million Ukrainians affected. Despite the efforts of the Government of Ukraine and humanitarians, millions of people continue to need humanitarian assistance and protection support. To be able to respond to their needs, humanitarians have conducted comprehensive needs analysis throughout 2018 and came up with a solid and strictly prioritized humanitarian response plan for 2019.

During the event, the details of the response plan, as well as funding requirements for humanitarian operations in 2019, will be presented and discussed with over 100 representatives of the Government, embassies, donors and aid agencies, as well as national and international non-Governmental organizations.
