NGO Hub for Will be Opened in Kramatorsk on March 29
Number and scale of NGOs, voluntary initiatives and charities in Donbas have significantly increased since 2014. That is primarily associated with the necessity to solve the problems faced by residents of the region and citizens of the country since the beginning of the armed conflict. Public activists demonstrated their high efficiency and mobility, especially and primarily in response to the needs of hundreds and thousands of IDPs and people who live in the occupied territories and along the contact line.
Currently, there are more than 200 active NGOs and initiatives in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. For their qualitative activity and exposure increasing is required a platform that provides opportunities for institutional development and facilitates active interaction both between themselves and with the government, local communities, businesses, media and public. The new hub in Kramatorsk will become such a platform. It will provide for the community many opportunities:
- venue for meetings and events, training and seminars, counselling and mentoring
- platform for planning, coordination and implementation
Fredrik Larsson, director of Ukraine NGO Forum, through which made possible the opening of the hub, said: “It is expected that in the future hub will become the centre on the provision of services and outsourcing in accounting, legal issues, communications, fundraising and advocacy. Moreover, it will act as an information platform for a variety of projects of non-governmental organisations in the region, such as charitable, cultural, educational and environmental”.
Representatives of public organisations and initiatives, local authorities, media, partner organisations and all interested are invited to participate in the opening of the hub.
