Ukraine NGO Forum started new phase of the Capacity Building Project for NGOs in eastern Ukraine

During the previous phase of the project within four months:

  • 18 training programs included topics on conflict sensitivity and peace building, NGOs governance and ethical standards, strategic planning and fundraising, coordination and communication, IT and safety of NGO staff, finance and HR management and 2 strategic sessions managed to reach almost 400 employees (number of applicants the same time was more than 1,000 people) from 151 NGOs in the Donbass,UK_project-2_
  • in cooperation with Donbas SOS was established a NGO hub for public initiatives in Kramatorsk,
  • an assessment of the mind-set and identity of 1300 GCA/NGCA residents of Luhansk region was conducted
  • mapping web portal of more than 200 NGOs active currently in Donetsk, Luhansk GCA and  NGCA was developed

Now, with the support of the British Embassy in Ukraine, the second phase of the project has started. At this stage, the geography of the project is expanded – events and activities will cover Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions.

By March 2018, the following activities will be implemented:

? expert assessment of the needs of NGOs in the specified region,

? more than 20 trainings on strategic and financial planning, communications, fundraising,

? almost 10 events for trainers on conflict sensitivity and trainings on a promotion of peaceful economic development and business networking, security and justice advocacy, gender and peacebuilding, managing conflict risks, collaborative research and dialogue,

? capacity building program for 30 NGOs,

? mentorship support for 30 NGOs,

? program on a private-public partnership for 30 NGOs,

? study visits for 10 NGOs to share their experiences,

? different events for the development of hubs in the Donbass: in Lyman (Donetsk region), Starobilsk and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region),

?  program for increasing sustainability and participation of NGOs in the process of Local Policymaking in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions,

? conference on private-public partnership,

? development of the portal
